Summer! The birds sing! The bees sting! The girls wear tank tops and the men gawk! It is also time to provide information about the TTSCC that is as hot as the summer sun that burns your arm as you cruise the avenue. So flip the switches, blow out the bass, and grab a seat.
With Caution and Precision
The TTSCC is currently engineering the design of certain plans and schemes. These items will, when put into practice, greatly improve the output and capabilities of the TTSCC. Such claims have been made in the past, it is true, but now things are different. The TTSCC would enjoy sharing with you exactly how things are different, but such chummery is against TTSCC operating procedures. Please wait 6-8 weeks and/or months for details to be fully disclosed.
Way to Go, Boys!
It is with great pride that we confide the bestowing of several awards upon the mantles of TTSCC recording artists. Both Hussalonia and The Disappointments won awards from Basta! (or too much! We will never know ourselves!) Magazine. These “awards”, put into quotes to designate their questionable nature, were brought to light in the most recent volume of this publication, Vol. 2 No. 2, Winter/Spring 2000. Hussalonia was tied for the reception of three awards, the Lejaren Hiller Award for the Best Use of Tapes or Toys in a Musical Performance, Charles Gayle Award for Significant Achievement Outside The Media Gaze and Best Costume in Performance. The Disappointments also won “Noteworthy Act of Absurdity” for their October 1999 CD Release Party, the events of which are chronicled twice in this particular issue of Basta!, with neither instance providing an accurate rendition of the event. It is this sort of obfuscation of the truth that the TTSCC endorses, and for which we commend Basta! The true story, as everyone knows, is that the bear was in fact David Yow who, after his unmasking, arm-wrestled Craig Reynolds in a winner take all match.
Whatever happened to…
The Disappointments: are currently putting the finishing touches on their lifelike drummer android, Hussalonia: is basking in the glory of its awards, collectorbaseemitter: is still recording, Jay Jackowski: is evading the law, [REDACTED ]: is waiting for the opportune moment, [REDACTED]: are still German, [REDACTED ]: is still fucking absurd.
